Property Fraud Alert
Unfortunately it is all too easy for a criminal to record a fraudulent deed making it appear as if they now own your home. Once this step is complete, they can use your home as collateral on a mortgage or even attempt to sell your home to an unsuspecting buyer. (Include property fraud alert logo on page)
The Perry Recorder’s Office now offers a no-cost on-line subscription service that will allow the public the ability to have their name/property monitored within County Recorder’s office in order to track possible fraudulent activity. Subscribers will be notified only when the name they have submitted is indexed off of documents recorded within the County Recorders Office.
Protecting consumers’ information and real estate property are top priorities and require more education and vigilance than at any time in the past. Fraud and identity theft are commonplace problems in today’s world. While Property Fraud Alert does not prevent fraud from happening it will provide an early warning system that will allow citizens to take appropriate actions should they deem possible fraudulent activity has occurred.
